Its not often that my heart hurts, but for some reason it does now. The idea that Jesus was about something more than war and this world (as in our ideas and ways), and then seeing a close friend coming out of boot camp hurts. I can’t explain it, but it is where head and heart meet.

Morning man. Remember, God has all given us different talents, paths/walks, and purposes. In fact that person that just came back from bootcamp sought out God more then he ever did and clung to him when he had nothing around him. He grew in his faith in leeps and bounds.
God doesn’t just use those of like minds and passions. Just take a peak at the 12. Guess what I’m trying to say this morning, because I know your pain is real, is to take comfort in knowing that God can use someone that is placed in a war or the military. God can use someone that is placed on the streets ministering to the needy. God can use that student in the school. God can use that person singing a hymn on a Sunday morning. God can use that person competing in sports. God can use the suits and the rags. God will use the willing heart. The heart that loves Him. You are right my friend. Jesus is about something much much more. Not just reading scripture, social justice, opinions on wars, feeding the poor, etc….although he discussed those things and was or will be involved with those things…..He was and is about one thing (luke 19:10). Our sin, His Holiness, His Mission. Savior. He paid the price for us, so that we as humanity can have relationship with a Holy God once again. That was the mission of Jesus Christ. Reconciliation. For you, for me, and that offer which is open to all the world. May that bring healing to your heart this morning. Love you so much man! Keep your focus on Him.
In Christian Love,

I agree completely that God can use all situations, and it is great news to hear about this person
. My point was simply that I am hurting because as I learn and study I realize that Christ is about more, but American Christianity sees war as acceptable, and I just do not know if God thinks this. But at the same time I understand many Christians believe in just war theory; but should we as Christians be so readily jump into the military. Not saying God can’t use us there, and He could possibly call us there, but maybe we think it is more common than reality presents. my heart simply hurts over that subject, but rejoices in knowing that it has helped this person grow stronger in their faith! (Also these are simply my opinions, since I have not studied enough yet and can not say with confidence that God feels this way about war, but I know Christ does not come with a sword, but with a cross.)

I love your thoughts on these matters man! Didn’t mean to knock them down either. I don’t want to come across as smug. It’s hard sometimes when we see people entering into things that we are unsure of or may not agree with. We wrestle with those thoughts because we love them and care about them. We want whats best for them. You have a huge heart for people man. Especially for those that are close to you. Thanks for writing your thoughts and feelings down. I encourage you to write more and dive deeper in the matters of faith. I’m always happy to see new updates from you.
